Goodbye Quinte Trailer ...

Recommended Posts

We bought a beautiful trailer on the waterfront at Mohawk Bay 3 yrs ago . The C19 has deterred us from going the last 2 years . We got our invoice today for the new rates for 2022 , and at the bottom there's a statement from the owner that we have to get both jabs... & maybe jab 3 or 4  by next season or we are banned from the park .

Needless to say , we will not let someone dictate or force us to conform to their health standards . Our health info is between us and the doctor ,period . We have no choice but to sell our beloved trailer . I will not help our political masters turn this country into a commie state ....seems like China has already got us by the short ones now !

We will be in touch with Christine who has been checking our trailer every few months and just bought a trailer a few lots from us also on the waterfront and she will help show people through the trailer and handle the sale for us.  We are fortunate to have her as a friend there.

It’s just the beginning I fear.

Yes ,  some new variants like C 1.2. , Mu ,ect. are being brewed in Africa and with world travel I can see more "C"s landing at every airport and border crossings . We do not go anywhere than to get groceries so a complete lockdown wouldn't change our life a bit . We both try to keep healthy , no smoke & very little alcohol and we do the distance stuff and wear our halloween masks but don't click elbows as it looks so stupid .

We trust our natural immune system will take care of the C-flu and build a natural immunity as always . Neither of us have ever had a flu shot and my wife hasn't seen a doctor in 32 years . She is a very unhappy (non) camper today (tears shed) and we will stick to our principles until they send out the troops .  Book your cruise trip now while you can .....

Wow, that sucks for sure. Ya'll have your own place up there, and out doors when not inside. Doesn't make sense, but looking around, not much makes sense anymore.

All that is presently required there  is wear a mask on the docks , and the store is closed .  C19 will still be passed among the jabbed ones  as seen in the daily stats on the news. Many of them do not trust any crowded places ...not good for business either way .

A trailer park? That’s just Ridiculous. Sorry for your loss smerch.

We have one other option  ..... pay another 4 grand for next season and keep the trailer , then hope by 2023 c19 , etc. will be history .

Maybe we could get an extra 20 grand more then as real estate prices double every year .......

They deserve to lose your business. Or any other business that deems it mandatory to infringe upon your rights to do business there.

There are many empty spaces there now as some have moved out , some Americans,  and for 2 yrs no non resident campers including motor home buses etc. It's been costly for the owner and  laid off employees .  The local shops , reserve , and shopping malls took a big hit as visitors stayed home .....and I'm sure there are others at our park who will not take part in this experiment .....  so be it .

I'm not sure about people who drive motor homes who pull a boat going to the area ... There's a nice public  launch at Deseronto  and I don't think you need a "passport" to launch and fish .....and as ice fishing approaches ,  I don't know if renting a room at a motel/hotel is an option ...

We got a message from our friend Christine today who is upset to see us leave and will ask others at the park if they want a waterfront trailer and an asking price , then there are the other  local options to advertise and Kijiji of course. She will also take pictures for us to help sell it quickly as possible .

Hard to say. Medical information needs to stay private, not made public. If there is enough push back to the passport nonsense, then maybe they'll not do it at all.

The main character behind this ploy has been  Fraudci  and he is under serious questioning right now . There is light at the end of that big tunnel .... Let's hope by Christmas we can ice fish "together in a hut" :santa:

even if they open there doors at a later time we have to say no way

I'm with you all the way on this .  We could use a list of businesses who don't want us there and remember them for good . We have been getting take out food for 2 years and buying frozen pizza (which is petty dam tasty) . Many people who have had the shots are still reluctant to go where there may be crowds as they know they can still get and pass on the c19 to others . Some have already ended up in hospitals after the jabs ??  Mr.Ford said today that when the numbers come down he will rescind the mandatory shots .....ya sure...too late for "Ontario is open for business" ....he means BIG businesses .

Lets hope our tackle shops don't follow these "rules" .....:Gonefishing:

Just remember many businesses do not have a choice since the fines will be significant.

I know a local restaurant owner and the mentality some people have with this whole thing is insane.  He is getting calls daily asking CAN WE COME IN IF WE HAVE ONE PERSON IN OUR PARTY WHO IS NOT VACCINATED and when he follows that up with a "no" it is a tirade about how they will never support him or his family again.

The provincial government has set some rules and businesses that are impacted have two choices.  Follow them or don't and if they choose to not follow them they can get some significant fines.  So all I will say is if you are angry at a business for following the rules (of which Public Health, By-Law, and police forces have the power to enforce and issue the fine) they are only trying to prolong their careers as not many small operations can afford a significant fine.  If you have an issue with a business that is following the rules that have been mandated on them, take it up with your local public health office.

Now if the business is imposing their own rules (such as a grocery store saying NO to those who have not been fully vaccinated), then take on the management, don't take it out on the kids.

The funniest thing about all of this ... back in March 2020 when doo-doo hit the fan, I was flying every week (and still am), flights were cancelled left right and center, people were crammed into planes as the airlines wanted to minimize any loss, then the government mandated social distancing so planes were using every other seat for the most part ... then the airlines complained and the government didn't give them the cash to make social distancing financially viable so the government said FREE FOR ALL around July or August last year, and since then it has been back to normal on the planes for the most part (outside of service).  I have been flying through this whole thing and now because of our shady liberal overlords I am part way through the two step vaccination approach because if I can't fly, I can't work, and our overlords have not provided direction on what the OR option is ... rapid testing at the airport?  Sign me up, I would take that over a needle every day of the week.  PCR testing, the old brain prick and needing results before you fly, fine I will take the needle as that won't be possible before all the flights.  When no one was vaccinated it was never a question of flying, when we were at 50% vaccination rate it was never a question of flying, but now with Canada at 70%+ of Canadians fully vaccinated it is dangerous for me to be on a domestic flight and I am a viral terrorist to all unless I get fully vaccinated.

What also burns me up on this, I don't have the option for the J&J shot because our Federal overlords have said "there is no demand for it so we will donate it all to those in need" ... had we had that option available I would have gotten the shot months ago.

Good info snags .  I suppose it's a different thing for others depending on their jobs , unlike people like me who have more options . As I am retired and don't  normally go to places like restaurants , movies , bars , sport events . casinos ,  I haven't really been affected by lock downs or a need for getting jabbed . We have the kids over for company and that's it . All we need is to be able to buy food . All the rest can be bought on line if necessary . When we are TOLD to take the jabs or lose our right to go to our trailer , we will not give up our rights to refuse government intrusion into our personal health status.  I believe we are moving closer to dictatorship and will rebel every aspect of their plans to enforce their demands on us.  We are basically living like the days of total lock down which is better than conforming to their chemical jabs.

Well ....some things have changed lately ....We can now join 10,000 others , mask free to go to a ball game , take a cruise , etc etc .

We sent a message to list our trailer today and low & behold , we can now go to our trailer park without the jungle juice in our bodies !

So , we have put the sale on hold and will discuss our options . If we decide to spend time there this season , like 2 weeks there and 2 weeks back home ,

since I have a larger veggie garden planned , we may get to enjoy some Quinte fishing .

They are building a "vax" chem plant in QC that can produce millions of doses of the juice per second.....that may mean the long term goal is to keep people  jabbed for years to come , so we have to take this as a year to year guessing game .

At least we now have options .....good news !

....and Ford can kiss my ass !

That's good to hear about the trailer.... especially after all the years up there....sad to say but besides them complying with local mandates... they probably where putting a few of thier own rules in place...I'm sure they learned a lesson or 2 when people started pulling out of the park...or putting thier trailers up for sale....they realize it's big business these days.... unfortunately for some places it's all about the money...years back when I had to let my trailer go it was all about the money.....the original owners where all about the fun and family aspect of the park....due to retiring because of health reasons it turned into all about the money...when the new owners took over they crept up the lot fees so much that most of the people I knew in my 10 years up there pulled out .. specially those of us that had lakefront lots...they priced us out on purpose with the plan of putting up cottages..and took away the year round access turning it to seasonal.....well guess what ...the cottages never happened...they lost alot of long term residents...and ever since the park went way downhill in every aspect including upkeep......it would be a shame that you had to give something up that you value in your life so much because of freedom of choice

"Freedom is just another word..."   said J.J. ....we are seeing more and more of our rights being eroded as our constitution is no longer valid ....you had a great spot there jack , just as close to the lake as our trailer .

Tyler ....yes ,some good carp fishing there , especially behind the island  just west of the bridge at Deseronto ....lots of tall weeds there.

We offered to wear masks when near others on the dock , in the store etc.  but he still refused to give us a break last year .

We will plan one year at a time . If we get shut out again we will certainly give it up for good.

Time to go worming again in the back yard ....have a lot of digging to do so might get some more in the tomato/bean garden .

Boat hasn't seen water for 3 yrs.......but runs great in the driveway !

I was buying worms from the Mohawks at an Olco gas station in Deseronto . They were nice fat ones & only $5 for 2 dozen (no tax)

You could get gas there cheaper and a bag of weed if desired ......  :skunk:

Speaking of cheap gas I was over in the U.S today. Going to start my weekly beer and gas runs again. The prices in Canada are a joke. I paid 3.93 a gallon which after conversion came out to 1.30ish a litre. The husky by me today was 1.83 a litre. 53 cents a litre cheaper!  Filled my 100L truck and 2 x 25L jerry cans. Huge savings. Plus 30 beer for 16.99 vs 50 to 55 a case here .

"They" are saying we should expect to pay $2  this summer ....that will be an expensive ride to Quinte  after adding on the 407 fees....

As the saying goes ...."If you want to play , ya gotta pay"  I'll need to cough up another $400 for a dock space.

I saw a 6" Rapala knife that included a "solid gold" knife sharpener in the package ....only $46 plus hst !   What a deal eh ?

Time to check out the garage sales and flea markets ?  Some good finds on fishing/hunting/camping stuff !  :Gonefishing::th_fudd::smiley_campfire-1:

We usually head out about 9 am on a Sunday as traffic was not too heavy . We had our dog with us so we wanted to get there the quickest way by using the 407 . Last trip to the trailer we used the 407 only once each way.....about $50 then .  Getting up at 4 am would be a 'shocker' to us older dudes & driving with the boat in tow may be dangerous to everyone else on the road .....
