Looking for a bail spring

We used to make our own (crude) spring for the Mitchell 300 . ...forget what type of wire we used . We twisted the wire around a tube (pencil) & made a couple of 90 bends and snipped off the excess wire . It worked but not great as we had to push the bail back to full stop by hand . Ah , those simple uncomplicated days ......

I had my Stradic 4000 bail replaced by John Gadzo ...done very quickly ....too bad he has passed......Maybe Grimsby tackle can give you a name ? Good luck .
