knightfisher Posted August 4, 2024 Report Posted August 4, 2024 Simple way to kill rats and mice is to put down some dry potato flakes, bit of sugar if you want. The rodents eat the flakes, get thirsty, find some water and drink and the flakes expand and kill them. I have been using this system in my back yard near my bird feeder for a while. Works. smerchly Posted August 5, 2024 Report Posted August 5, 2024 That would be much better than using the deadly rat poison. I check the yard out for dead rats first thing in the morning. I don't want my small dog licking the bloody head from a poisoned rat. I only use the old spring traps now and they are set under the deck with lattice firmly in place so Rover can't get at the food. So I would also need to put the spud flakes under there as well. I'll have to pick some up soon. knightfisher 1 Quote
