Duncan Posted October 11, 2024 Report Posted October 11, 2024 I was fishing in China last week and hooked into some of these . Almost like a bass but not quite . I could not understand the name they are called in Mandarin so . If there are any anglers familiar with this I would like to know the English name so I can look them up for fishing spots when I am there Quote
NiagaraRiverFisher Posted October 12, 2024 Report Posted October 12, 2024 I can't believe there is still fish alive in their waters to catch ! Extreme destruction of our planet along with the Bangladesh / India area , looks like a bass /sea trout / snook hybrid . Tyler0420 1 Quote

I don’t speak or read Mandarin so I wouldn’t even know. I do know that you can no longer fish the Yangtze River because of conservation efforts . I have in the past fished of the coast in the Yellow Sea and that water looks strange , I guess that’s why it’s called Yellow Sea . There was another type of fish that really looks identical to small mouths but the mouth was too small for it to be an actual one. It was fished for along the banks in the bamboo reeds and Mr Twister jigs seemed to work pretty good . smerchly 1 Quote
