No I'm kinda old school Tyler, I use a small Rapala 4" rubber handle knife. I have a Elec knife and have used it but I find I can filet faster with the knife. Plus it's probably me, I don't like cutting through the guts with the Elec and getting the crap on the blade then on the filet. I timed myself the other day and did 49 Perch in 1 hour and 15 Mins. verado Posted November 15, 2024 Report Posted November 15, 2024 I'm the same way Fish Farmer. I just don't get the feel I like with an electric knife. After using many different kinds, I bought a Cutco fillet knife. It is by far the best I have ever used, it's scary sharp. The blade will extend to about 8-10 inches so I use it on bigger fish as well. I have not touched the electric knife since I bought it. NiagaraRiverFisher 1 Quote

smerchly Posted November 15, 2024 Report Posted November 15, 2024 I like to use electric knives for carving up turkeys, slab bacon or hams, ect. I have 4 Rap knives for fish, use the 6" mostly. Keep them well sharpened. Fish Farmer 1 Quote
Darryl L Posted April 29 Report Posted April 29 Finally got out for the first perch trip of the year. Heard last week they were crushing them but not that way today. Maybe 50 boats out and nobody i spoke to all day was doing great. We ended up with about 20 in a couple hours and a last minute walleye saved us. Lost another walleye at the boat. Gorgeous day. Water temp 50 degrees. No docks at Crystal yet. Water was like glass Bubba14, Fish Farmer, Dan Andrews and 3 others 6 Quote
Fonthill Posted May 1 Report Posted May 1 We were out last Thursday off Crystal beach in 63 ft and we had no problem finding them ,pretty much stopped the boat and we were on them and didn't move . 4 hours we had 80. My buddy went back Monday and could not find a good school ,think they ended up with 10 all afternoon. I use a cordless electric Bubba but use my old mister twister blades with it. I find the ones that come with the Bubba to course. Dan Andrews and Tyler0420 1 1 Quote

We had a boat pull up on us Thursday , and the one guy was perching and the other guy was jigging a small spoon and caught 6 walleye that we saw in about 2 hours. Darryl L and Dan Andrews 2 Quote
