Shame on those governments that allow their country and waterways to become dump sites ....have a peek , scroll down ....... http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/guardians-of-the-river-make-tiny-dent-in-rio-s-unrelenting-pollution-1.3714213
smerchly
Lets add this to the menu . Aug 11 http://www.stcatharinesstandard.ca/2016/08/11/hook-line-and-sinker-woman-saves-goose-injured-by-fishing-gear Director of the humane society suggests for a start using barbless hooks for fishing . I can live with that . ...and shutting spots down to fishing like the green ribbon trail may be a last resort , but very effective ....... edit ...again...Aug 13 I went to Port Dal. today , grabbed a coffee , checked out a few spots for minnows (none) & went to an old fishing spot at Rennie Park ....found lots of garbage (cardboard box full plus green bag full hanging from tree and a big ball of fishing line on the ground . Saw a goose with half a foot missing .......Not all trash was from anglers , but why leave it there in garbage bags for coons or cats to tear apart . Who is expected to "drop by" and take this trash away ? Grrrrrrrr
Edward Charette
I accidentlay happened to read somewhere that we Canadians are dumping tons of garbage in the Philippines. It was quite disturbing. I guess there should be efficient ways of dealing with the recycling or say the disposal methods. We should first know what is garbage and then how to deal with them. Simple measures from each one of us can ensure effective waste management system. There are many things which we can recycle instead of tossing out. There are articles which shows ways to make creative things from junk. Check for some simple home waste management tips in this article http://www.redbins.ca/home-waste-management-tips/. Studies say North Americans are used to throwing away 600 times of adult weight in their lifetime

smerchly
We get mountains of packaging from China everyday . We get to process it or send it to the dump . Much of the over packaging is to help prevent thefts from stores , and goods today are made with a very short life span which keeps the ships coming in ......... Who would have thunk it ......paying 1000 times the price for water because it is put into a plastic bottle ?????
