smerchly
Thought I'd go float fishing for perch today .....grabbed some small live minnows from my tank , a 9.5' rod and a slip float . First thing first ....find the exact depth and set the stopper . So I attach a 1/2 oz. sinker to the hook which is on the end of the line . After seeing just the tip of the float I was all set to bait up and catch me some dinner . As I lifted the sinker from the bottom I felt "weeds" which began to move . ... . Yep ....I brought up a nice 9" perch . The hook/sinker bait caught it at the gill . So , I rushed to get a minnow on the hook and prepare for some fun .....NOTTA !! It seems the old lead sinker was tastier ! I moved to another spot , dropped my lively silver offering down to the bottom and a small perch came up from the depths and tried to eat my float ..... . Too many weed butts in the water ??? Well after a little tweaking...... .....I finally got a few for the table . I got my revenge !! happy happy ..... I had to get a shot of this crazy perch .....don't ask me if I ate it .....

Mike Pike
Nice Smerch. Any day you can go out somewhere close to home, float for perch, and bring a few home for a meal is as good a day as I can think of.
