smerchly
High eff. furnace with outside air intake pipe has a condensation pump on furnace which sends water to the laundry tubs when tripped . It fills with water when either the air is on or furnace is on. Neither has been used the last few days , but the pump still comes on about once every 2 hours . ???? Maybe the 2" outside air pipe still drips on humid days ? Most furnaces today have this set up .....
Chrisb
Does the furnace have a humidifier? Check it for a water leak. That is the only water source I can think of that might fill the pump when nothing else is running.

No humidifier Chris , we were told we shouldn't need one since the more humid air from the outside is drawn into the furnace . Maybe the hi/low switch on the pump is set too close , or too much crap has settled in the pump , not allowing it to drain off much water . It runs for about 5 seconds ....will see if I can clean out the reservoir tomorrow .
