  1. It is largely personal choice...I know Timo will wax his thread to cinch down the first couple of wraps on his wings...shouldn't have terrible adverse effects on applying head cement. I've used waxed thread when spinning deer so I get good grab and can load the tension onto the material.

  2. You're a good man CCfly. Now I just need to find another free night...

Don't let it get around...stop by OFF they'll tell you otherwise... :blahblah1:

I'm up to my eyes with a bunch of NA fly swap obligations...best I can tell you for the moment is tie slowly, it's something I've had to remind myself of frequently....

  3. Nicely done man!!

Thread hasn't died out...i just wanted to see who else would post anything up, or whether we were just going to continue to put up the result of years of skill and expertise to be exploited by "visitors"...

Anyway...it is a barometer of the number of people dedicated to this finer side of angling...a shrinking number...BUT...THE RIGHTEOUS

    :thx:

  4. Nice tye cc....wish i could do the wings as nice as those. Watched Joe penich and he makes it look so easy....forgot everything after i left the demo. I am finding that buying the select feathers makes a huge differance.

An acquired skill...10,000 hr rule...building the first few roofs is despair :wall:

You'll get the hang of it...my tying speed has decreased enormously...often a matter of 1/16 of an inch adjustment. Look at a LOT of classics to internalize dimensions, balance, scale, etc. Where you cinch your thread differs with wing style also.
