  1. I found 2 more stands on either side of the property . This one faces a field towards Chippewa conservation and the other is a little further in from the unnasumed road allowance on the other side
  2. About half a dozen Turkeys close to the tree line .This is probably a stupid question but I assume this is a deer feeder , but I have no idea how it works . thers is a tree stand just a few yards away from it and a hunting blind just about 60 feet further . I assume from the amount of tracks I saw this is a deer highway . I also found another tree stand on the edge of a field , the field had
  3. Water temp is Huge concern the depth is 25’ and the aeration is handled by a pump designed to cover up to 30’ deep and half acre . I have less than 1/4 acre , probably .2 acres in addition I am getting a fountain that shoots 8 feet at centre and 6 feet at sides to add more water movement . The pond was initially designed to have speckles in there but I don’t think that would be a good choice .
  4. You need to get a permit from the MNR , and only native species are allowed to be stocked ,Rainbows , Bass etc . In my case it was relatively simple because I don’t have any feeder streams for fish to escape into the watershed . The company I am getting stock from was a big help in sorting things out for me and advising what steps where needed .
  5. I found a much nicer , newer stand yesterday while I was checking out the west corner of the property . The east corner had some Turkeys in a field close to my tree line , the previous owner has told me there are turkey nests in the trees and lots of deer beds there ,but I have not really checked out that side of the property so I am not sure what I will find
  6. I have just moved into the Chippewa area this week (Wednesday ) and I have been getting my pond ready to stock rainbows ( aerating and bacterial control ) . It was just before dusk and I was checking out the back end of the pond , across from me in the tree line I heard a almost hoot sound coming from there . That’s when I saw the Coyote about 80 to 100’ feet from me .The cheeky part was he started circling the back of the pond towards me , he was interested in the goose that was in the pond and had no fear or concern for me being so close . If this becomes a habit I may have to do something about it .
  7. That’s a good spot also if you go up above Fergus from melita auto sales up to the RV sales place there are 3 access points that are equally good spots .
  8. If you mean 50 point at Grimsby then it is closed .I have my boats docked there and I can’t even get my rib put in at the ramp to put it on my boat .
  9. I just moved to about 1 km down the road from the Chippewa Conservation area , so as soon as I am settled that’s one of the first places I want to check out .
  10. Yes I was referring to flyfishing and I have a heavy beast of a kayak ( about 135 lbs)that has a drop in electric motor that would be nice to use . I had thought about putting the kayak on my Davit system and carrying it on my boat and then try fishing the bar while I anchored my boat close by .
  11. I sort of had permission . I am taking possession tomorrow so you might say it’s ok
  12. I went for a walk recently and came across this tree stand for deer , it looks like it’s been there for a number of years because the wooden ladder to get up there was in very rough shape . I also found a battery operated deer feeder close by and a lot of deer tracks and rubbing in the area .
  13. I would like to try fishing the sand bar either by taking my boat from fifty point or using a kayak or even a rib . I would like to try using a full sinking line with streamers to see how that works .

My Boat goes into the water on the 29 April at Fifty point ,I can live on it if I want but I am not allowed to take it into the lake . So I can stay on my boat at my Berth along with everyone else ,but it’s to dangerous for me to cast off and be in the middle of the lake .
