heatmiser74
Went up up to Simcoe (out of Gilford) with GREYHAWK yesterday to do some Perch fishin' & man was it COLD!!!!!! Good thing I booked a hut . The cold weather didn't hamper the fishing at all. The fishing was hot & with the exception of a few lulls in the action remained so up until dark. Although I got some fish on jigging raps, wax worms & maggots, the hot bait was shiners fished 1-2ft off of bottom in 30 FOW. The perch averaged between 9-10" & GREYHAWK got one HAWG that went 13". BTW If u plan on releasing some of your Perch make sure there swim bladder isn't sticking out of their throat. Perch don't depressurize very well when retrieved from deepwater causing their swim bladder to over inflate (looks & feels like a tiny balloon in their throat) & are unable or have difficulty trying to submerge when released. If this happens it's better off to keep them for the frying pan, mmmmm yum !!!!!! A couple of ways to allivate this problem is to fish in shallower water, if this isn't possible, try reeling in the fish slowly to help it depressurize as its coming up (this however doesn't always work).
