My son, Mark, and I went out to the marina in Port Colborne this morning for our first ice fishing expedition, the ice is about 5" thick.

We didn't have any luck but met some great people on the ice, one gentleman gave us some of his bait and some advice on where to fish.

It was a little windy and cold so after a little more then an hour we packed it in for some hot chocolate.

Maybe tomorrow if we can get out of the driveway.

BTW how do you keep the ice from forming on your line? We ended up with icicles every 10 mins or so.

Thanks

Dan

Fish in warmer weathe :worthy::worthy: Just kidding. I find that vaseline works good for the guides. As the line runs through it, the line coats itself. In this kind of weather I don't think you can do too much about it. Use a winter line so it doesn't get brittle and try the vaseline thing. Stay safe and have fun.
