Please remember to take down your tree stands

The archery season for deer is almost over and, unfortunately, there will be a few more plywood and 2x4 contraptions left to rot in the woods. I see all sorts of old and new wooden stands on public (NPCA) land. Setting aside the fact that no one should be building permanent stands on public land anyway, please take the stand down in the new year. Otherwise, it just becomes garbage in the woods and, worst of all, somebody might fall out of it and get hurt.

There are trees with stands in Willoughby Marsh and not only are the stands falling apart, not permitted but the whole tree is falling down. Good point ninepointer as kids will climb these things and the obvious amount of rule breakers make us look bad.

My Son and I will be leaving our tree stands up but moving them around our private lot as we will be doing some wildlife viewing all year. We do however loosen them off every couple of weeks and move them a few inches so we don't strangle the tree.
