Hardly anyone at Whirlpool and port D on monday!

I lost a $7 lure when my smithwick plug accidentally snagged a 10+lb trout on its back and I was not able to land it with my 6 lb line, what a bummer! I was lazy and did not use my braided line. I saw only two fish caught using fresh egg, and few anglers at the whirlpool. No one was at port D, water level was so high. Current was way too fast, though we saw quite a few fish surfacing here and there.

Are the trout fishing over? Or just baromteric pressure change. I do not have any eggs is one reason for lack of success this year, and the trout are still not taking lures. I remembered that fishing for trout should be very good and the weather should be sunny and quite warm during spring.

In the mean time, I aimed for carp 4 times within one week time to make up for my disapointment in trout fishing, it was a thrill catching these hard fighting fish and kept reminded me of fall salmon fishing. I also brought few friend who were first time fishing for carp, and these are their faces. Sometimes seeing other friend having a nice time catching fish is very much a part of our reward of being successful in this sport. Not bad for locating the fish and introduce others fishing for Carp.
