denis Posted February 9, 2005 Report Share Posted February 9, 2005 Got a good look at the lake before this snow started to fall and there is definetly some soft spots out there after this warm spell. If you plan on going out TAKE A SPUD BAR I was out in thunder bay this weekend and had 6 inches of black in one spot the next spot was 4.5 and then the next spot was maybe 3 and she started to crack when I pushed down on the auger to finish cleaning the hole. I made it back to shore pretty fast . Looks like colder temps and no wind all week but like I said its sketchy to say the least. Right now your best ice is still in the marinas or if you can afford the time and money go to simcoe I've heard it's still not bad. There's lots of tickets left and I've decided that I'm also going to have a prize for the smallest perch weighed in just to make it interesting minimum of 8 inch length.
