GREYHAWK
Though we had high hopes of fishing the Upper, especially with the map aids we received via our first post, we settled on the Lower because of the wind As it turned out it was a very good decision. The Lower was on fire for us producing a 50 - 60 fish day - we lost count The catch was multi-species - largemouth, smallmouth to a maximum 3-4 lb, huge stripe bass, white perch, perch, sheepshead and walleye. Most of the fish came on our trusted silver jigging spoons but dropshot, wacky worms, jig and pig and texas style techniques were equally effective. Though we tried the American side most of our fish came from the Canadian side. We found it difficult finding prime producing areas on the the American side Spots near the launch ramp at Queenston, the first dam upstream, and the mouth near the old lighthouse were our hotspots. pauly
Great job Greyhawk. It's nice to get a mixed bag sometimes. On the Lower, like Forest Gump said, you never know what yer gonna get. I miss the silver bass fishing that I used to do there as a kid by the power dam. Might go to the upper tomorrow. Take Care.
