Dan Andrews
Took the family to Mud Lake Conservation area for a stroll. Bigger than I imagined. I'm not sure why it's called a Lake though. Just one big marsh covered in birds. Anyway we walked all the way around and made a few stops on the way. Saw some of these along the way. There's not much to look at unless you have some serious zoom lens or binoculars. Most of the scrub is juniper and we had to keep stopping to pick the dog and wood ticks off. Here's one of the few good pictures I got on account of there aint much more to look at. But then we found a couple of these. This is when we all agreed it was time to go and check and double check ourselves before getting back in the truck. Then check again before our showers. I had one half that size. Lucky I even saw it. Guess if you've got scrub, deer and all the critters that come with a marsh, your going to have to take precautions. Last I heard they were planning to spray the Wainfleet bog. That's just stupid. Oh ya and plenty of poison ivy. The guy in the shorts didn't see it until he was way in there.
