Stocking the Welland River this Sunday (June 28)

Recommended Posts

If anyone is interested in taking part in the stocking of walleye in the Welland River this Sunday (June 28), come on out to the Port Colborne & District Conservation Club, beginning at 9:00 a.m. We'll be pulling the fingerlings from our rearing pond then heading over to the release site at the river. EVERYONE IS WELCOME! :) Bring your kids too, because in addition to the walleye, there's no shortage of other critters to see come out of our pond ;) , including lots of crayfish (so bring your bait buckets!)

The club is at 3757 2nd Concession Rd., Pt. Colborne. Directions at http://www.pcdcc.com/

Come on out, be part of conservation in action

On Wednesday I took my son out on the Welland River. We got a nice pike and released a largemouth. But every angler I spoke to has been catching (and releasing) walleye.

Better read the regulations on crayfish. Must be used in the same body of water where caught. ( 36 ). May not be transported overland. Don't want to see anyone fined because they didn't read the regulations.

Thanks to everyone who came out  Your dedication to take the time to stock fish on the opening weekend of bass season is much appreciated! Lots of helping hands resulted in an efficient and smooth operation. A big thanks to Walter Oster and Canadian National Sportsmen's Shows for attending and seeing what we're all about :D
