scottydog Posted March 9, 2005 Report Share Posted March 9, 2005 Had some time this afternoon, so decided to check ice thickness on bay in front of Buffalo Yaht Club. Took the old boy Norton and a hand auger and walked out. Shoreline is a tricky spot at times. Went out about 1/4 mile on ice. Drilled lots of holes. Some good areas with six inches and some bad with 2-3" . I did not fish. I'm going out there friday morning. Some lousy weather that day. Good day to fish with a low barometer. Use caution when fishing the ice. Look for water entering lake. Stay away from this ice. Can be dangerous.Norton made it home safe. Good fishing.
