calinpb
We went out for an excellent day of fishing yesterday. I had a couple of friends visiting from out of town so I decided to get Paul from Cast Adventures to take us out for the day. It was a slow start, but we did some grinding and didn't give up until we landed a couple nice steelies. The action was slow for the first few hours, but around 10:30 we had 3 hookups on 3 drifts in a row. After a hour or 2 more of drifting we decided to go hunting for some bass. Lake Erie was as calm as I have ever seen it, smooth as glass and it sort of felt like a summers day . You could see the bottom and the bass upto 40+ feet from the boat. So when I say hunting that is what it was. We would find the fish in groups of 2 - 5 and throw different types of plastic right in their zone, some would get spooked but others couldn't resist. If anyone is looking for a guide for the Niagara River, I highly recommend Paul from Cast Adventures. He was well prepared and he is a wealth of fishing knowledge and was more than willing to show us new techniques. I learned a lot and had a great day with some friends. http://i994.photobucket.com/albums/af66/ca...0Sept/Tyler.jpg http://i994.photobucket.com/albums/af66/ca...20Sept/John.jpg http://i994.photobucket.com/albums/af66/ca...BassMasters.jpg

Dan Andrews
Really nice to see some evidence of this steel I've been hearing about all summer. I may have to try although it will be seriously tough in a kayak.
Basshound
Interesting to see steelies moving into the river with the water temp at 68 F. What is the recommended bait for them this time of year? Roe bags as in cooler temps, streamers, plastic minnows or glo bugs.

denis
That's only the tip of the iceburg I weighed a 12 lber on the weekend. If anyone remembers 20 years ago it was standing room only along the breakwall. It should be another awesome fall/winter.
