Finally some truth

I would bet (although I may be wrong) that although Layton isn't whipping the NDP vote, he is unofficially putting back room pressure on his MP's to vote to keep the registry, with his "compromise".

Mark Holland is trying to justify his motion, and the Liberal whip by saying that Ms Hoeppner's bill is not a private members bill although that is how it entered the house. I think he is trying to justify the undemocratic ways of the Liberal party.

So the score as I see it is C68 only passed due to a whipped vote and if the registry lives it will only be by a whipped vote.

Any thoughts?

It's just typical Liberal and NDP philosophy and it's the one that is the most repulsive about them. They know what is best for you. Despite the opinions of those directly involved in the issue, the frontline police and legitimate gun owners and MPs that actually listen to their constituents and their own convictions.

Just got this in the email:

Dear OFAH Members:

Please be advised that on Thursday September 9, 2010, I will be appearing as

part of a panel on TVO The Agenda with Steve Paikin from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00

p.m. Included on the panel will be Wendy Cukier, Coalition for Gun Control.

Topic: the Rural/Urban Split around the long gun registry and Bill C-391.

As part of the program, TVO provides an opportunity for viewers to join a

live blog through their website at www.tvo.org/theagenda or have e-mails

appear on air during the program through theagenda@tvo.org.

The best comments from both of these sources appear on air while the panel

discussion is going on. Obviously the remarks should be polite, but if you

wish to use the opportunity to support Candice Hoeppner, support the bill,

disagree with the Coaltion, etc., please do so.

Yours in Conservation,
