minnow killer
Walked out of silver bay this morning, was heading for the shove line. Saw a couple out there yesterday, I drillled a test hole near shore, was 9 inch. Walked out another half mile and found still 9 inches. But no fish. 50 yards from the shove piles the dog splashed up some slush so I stopped and checked the ice, we were on 4 inches or less. Sovi made a quick turn around and walked back north about 50 yards and 100 yards east, I found 9 solid inches. Fished there for a while and moved 4 times more, and not more than one bite. 2 guys walked out around noon, my dog barked his ass off at them, he's not coming fishing anymore. tmate
port d was soooo windy out by the lake...good thing we had the hut! spots we were fishing yesterday that were 14" of ice are now open water...the wind really messes up the ice out there... still managed to catch a dozen for the table in about an hour and a half...one was about 13.5 inches
