nightendday
So josef and i went out for bass opener today. Started the day in port dalhousie walking the wall. Josef got 3 smallies ( and i mean smallies ) but no matter what rig or bait i tried i could not get them to bite. We decided to give jaycee a try, nothing there so we tried rennie right by the bridge to jaycee. I had just about given up and was reeling in to shore when a pike SLAMMED my rapala. Hit it so hard it ripped its gills out! We headed back to my ebd of town, fried up the pike and headed back out, this time for 12 mile. After no luck in a few spots we got adventurous and tried a new spot... Well within a half hour i had a decent cat on and josef had a huge sucker on! Great day for me.. No bass but still had an awesome time. I'll post pics when i get home!!
toaster
bass bite seemed to be off in gibson too (for me anyways), moved around a few spots and got one largie, but all the big guys cruisin close to shore had no interest.
sooner
sometimes if you are using a faster bait and they are turning away its best to switch to something with a slower presentation like a jig or vise versa.
