Olcott/Wilson NY 5/30

Launched out of Olcott and headed north, fished from 100 fow-350 fow, right after we turned and started a south troll had a hit and run on the power pro diver blue/white R&R spoon 100 back on a 3 setting, but nobody home. A little while later had a rip on the thumper rod silver glow LJ dodger (trash can) and green crinkle howie, that fish managed to open up the snap on the wire line and was gone taking my dodger/fly with it. Other than that very slow.

Radio chatter sounded like fishing was better off of Wilson so we pulled and ran. Got set back up and trolling north and had a rip on the wire diver 145 back on a 2, white glow pro-chip with LBB fly, fish was a small king (5-6 lbs). The thumper rod got hammered a second time again with a trash can dodger and green crinkle fly and this time as the drag was screaming out, the wire was wrapped on itself on the reel spool and bound up in the reel and that fish snapped that 20 lb malin wire like it was thread, so I'm down 2 trash can dodgers. Took a slot laker on a mongoose stinger free slider on the 50' rigger and had another hit and run on the power pro diver 120 back on 1 1/2 setting with an NK28 money spoon with a green prism ladder, again nobody home.

Called it a morning at noon.

Good luck to any of you guys fishing the Niagara pro-am next weekend.

Tim
