miller Posted September 25, 2012 Report Share Posted September 25, 2012 Headed down to the pool yesterday with a buddy for his first time and we were hoping to hook into a few kings. A little bit of spoon chucking as well as floating some skiens. I decided to try and teach my buddy how to use my float reel and luckily for him on his first short cast a carp decides to suck up the skien so fight on, first drift first fish and a decent size. Let him have try the float for a while and he definately enjoyed it, so i set him up and went back to fishing myself. I ended up landing two pretty big carp float fishing skien chunks too, even though it wasn't what we were looking for it still made for one heck of a fight in that current with light gear.
