spiro
I was kayaking in a local pond yesterday and saw 3 beautiful goldfish that were huge, I want to catch one, badly, and get a picture. I am assuming that it is the same rig as carp but has anyone ever just targeted the goldfish? Really want to pull one out to get a good look at them, the colour pattern was beautiful, orange white and black. Any tips? Mike
frog088
I have only ever caught goldfish by accident while targeting carp. Notoriously spooky fish and difficult to stalk/sight fish for. If they are indeed that large, they are most likely koi or koi hybrids. Beautiful fish nontheless.
captnn
cast your line with a worm on and let it drift in front of it. Works in my pond.

hammercarp
If they are are that big they are koi , not goldfish. Koi are common carp that have been bred for their colours. So the same technique should work. I have never caught a koi but I know people that have caught them using standard carp tactics.
