Bassmaster
I heard about the baby swans that had hatched down at Bayfront Park, was in Hamilton yesterday for a funeral sooo after that decided I would swing by for a look see. Got lots of shots but most were blurry and out of focus, I was dressed for a funeral, plus I had to get back to Brantford to cover for someone at work so I didn't have the luxury of time. I did see one large black looking duck.. it swam closer.. it resembled a mallard but I didn't see any of the usual markings of a mallard on the rest of it's body. It looked like it got trapped in an oil slick or something. Does anyone know for sure what this duck is? Thanks
gunner-2
Yes it is a mallard / domestic hybrid a mallard mix with a domestic duck i have seen this before or it's just a domestik duck that made his way there. Don't know a lot about domestic ducks but not many can fly and i don't know if this one can but i do know they cross with muscovy duck they have the ability fly.but 90% sure that it's a mallard muscovy hybrid i can tell by the longer feathers and by the color
