blue pilgrim
Hey folks. Just taking the canoe and rods down to a family gathering right on Lake St. Clair near Belle River. Anyone get out there and any suggestions for fishing? Thanks for your time. Mike
ChefMick
Hey blue I grew up the 1st 8 years of my life in Puce which is just on the Windsor side of Belle river, the Puce River holds a lot of gar pike, some times they congregate out at the delta. manutd_jeeves
Hey blue, I too grew up in amherstburg, half hour from windsor. I was fishing this weekend in that area, and marked many fish, presumably Musky, Walleye, Bass in the channel mouth in Lake St Clair. It is a very shallow lake, with lots of weeds. If you are in a canoe, I would bottom bounce/drift worm harnesses for walleye, as the bite has been plentiful off of Peach Island. I caution you, the winds were high this passed weekend, and creep up quickly so be careful. Green was the colour that appeared most successful. Best of luck. blue pilgrim
Thanks for the advice guys. I guess the beach we are at is pretty shallow for quite a way out, so I might be doing a little paddling to get into anything. Thanks again.
