We tried everything we could to have this event run on the big lake but it just wasn't possible this weekend. The event was moved to Millers Creek Marina the morning of and restricted to the Upper Niagara River only. Thanks to all teams for understanding the last minute change. We know many teams prefished the lake but it just wasn't going to be safe with winds kicking up early.

Congratulations to John and Perry Poirer on the win! Bags just keep getting bigger and bigger from the river. With bad weather conditiotns we still had a total of 23 teams compete. Top 6 teams below and the full results are attached.

FINISH NAME: BIG FISH WEIGHT PAYOUT

1 John Poirer / Perry Poirer 4.98 22.85 $1,040 $160 BF2

2 Travis McDonald / Gary Sanderson 21.44 $790

3 Landon Klassen / Rick Besteman 4.54 19.77 $620

4 Tom Chopin / Craig Butler 5.21 19.69 $460 $300 BF1

Special thanks to Bill Whitehead of Niagara Outdoors Show and Blake Rankie of VRX for the prize donations.

We also wanted to give an akowledgement to Martin Szomolanyi and Mike Craftchick for the honesty and sportmanship they showed in an unfortunate circumstance. They are both true gentlemen and we wanted to make note of the 20.64 lbs bag that they did catch.

On behalf of the St.Catharines Bassmasters we want to say thanks to all teams who participated and to all that helped out makinig this possible.

Pics and full results can be viewed on the St.Catharines Bassmasters Facebook page.

I talkd to jp yesterday (john poirier) said he had an amazing day,he said they hammered em which is obvious by the 22.8 weight from the river, but said they also caught and released a 20lbs musky,a 22.5 lbs musky and had another one break em off after a 15 min fight. Said it was his by far best day ever on the river.
