jones1234
I was kind of surprised to see Canadian tire no longer carries this in the cheap Winchester bulk of 100 shells. bought this for years for like 20$ and change a box especially with their beefed up hunting section. All u can get is like 7.5 and 8 which is ok if your hunting doves but it's a little light for my liking. When hunting rabbit and pheasant. It's my favorite upland game load very versatile pretty much covers all your bases while in the bush Anyone know of a local retailer still selling this? Old Outdoorsman
You might try Bass Pro. Frontier Gun in Fonthill used to carry all sorts of ammo, but he is winding down now. I purchased some ammo he'd been carrying for a while for pretty cheap, you might try him.
Markster
Last time i checked those boxes they weren't such a bargain. IIRC, they were closer to 30 bucks. Remington field loads in 25 packs were not much more. You can also try sail.

coyotehunter
Shot size for me is dependent on not only what I'm hunting for but the hunting conditions but also the gun I'm using. Pheasant. 12 gauge. 1_1/8 oz. #7_1/2 shot if shots are close (over a dog). #6 shot if longer 1_1/4 oz. #6 shot with a more open choke Rabbits. 12 gauge. Modified or full choke Open bush. 1_1/8 #4,5 or 6 shot Thick cover 1_1/8 #4 or #5 even #2 shot. Heavier pellets, fewer pellets get through the brush a little better and bunny isn't chewed up as much. My weapon of choice where we hunt in thick cover with dogs is a 12 gauge side by side with the barrels at 25_1/2 inches, 1_1/4 oz #4 or #2 shot. Easy handling in the thick stuff, close shots don't chew up the critter as much (open choke), bigger pellets are easier to find when cleaning, bigger pellets mean single pellet hits are more likely to kill because thick cover can eat up pellets like a sponge).
