Bassmasters Port Colborne Tournament on October 30

The biggest Ontario Bass Federation club tournament this year!

Niagara Bassmasters will be having a joined club tournament with Dunnville, Kitchener Waterloo Cambridge, and St. Catharines Bassmasters on Saturday October 30, 2004 out of Port Colborne on Lake Erie.

It is a team event, 5 bass limit and must be 12". Entry fee is $40 per angler ($35 for tourney, $5 for big fish). $25 non-boater fee. Open to B.A.S.S. members only! Draw will take place on Tuesday October 26, 2004 at 7:00 pm sharp, please contact me well in advance if you wish to fish.

TOURNAMENT SPECIFICS

1.Date: Saturday October 30, 2004

2.Time: 7:30 am to 3:30 pm

3.Location: Lake Erie, Port Colborne, launch at sugarloaf

4.Tentative Back Up Location: If the wind is up on the lake, Chippawa public launch, tourney in the Niagara River and its tributaries only (Lake off limits at Peace Bridge).

5.Entry Fee: $40 per angler ($35 for tourney, $5 for big fish)

6.Non-Boater Fee: $25 per non-boater. Unless otherwise negotiated between boater and nonboater prior to the start of the tournament

7.Club Hold Back: $2 per angler, if a club sends 10 anglers to the tournament, that particular club would receive $20.

8.Equal Numbers Per Club: Each club should ensure that their list has equal numbers of boaters and non-boaters. Our goal is to have 10 teams sent by each club. 40 boats, 80 anglers.

9.Team Event: 5 bass (smallmouth and or largemouth) per team, must be 12", stressing importance on pairing different club members with eachother (e.g. Niagara Boater with a St. Catharines Non Boater etc.). Anglers paired up will split the winnings.

10.Payout: 3 to 9 teams 100% to 1st, 10 to 14 teams 70% to 1st & 30% to 2nd, 15 to 19 teams 50% to 1st & 30% to 2nd & 20% to 3rd, 20 to 24 teams 40% to 1st & 30% to 2nd 20% to 3rd & 10% to 4th, 25 to 29 teams 40% to 1st & 30% to 2nd & 15% to 3rd & 10% to 4th & 5% to 5th, 30 to 34 teams pays to 6th with 6th receiving $80, 35 to 39 teams pays to 7th with the 6th and 7th team receiving $80 each, 40 to 44 teams pays to 8th with 6th, 7th and 8th place team receiving $80, 45 to 49 teams pays to 9th with 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th place teams receiving $80 each, 50 teams and up pays to 10th with 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th receiving $80 each.

Biggest live fish by a team will receive 100% of the big fish pot up to 19 teams. The 1st and 2nd biggest fish will be paid from 20 teams and up with the 1st biggest fish receiving 75% and the 2nd biggest fish receiving 25% of the big fish pot.

11.Final Draw: Tourney Directors will meet on Tuesday October 26, 2004 at 7:00 pm at Tim Hortons off Casablanca Blvd. at Gateway Niagara in Grimsby off the QEW.. Tourney directors must provide names of members wanting to fish, ensuring they are up to date with B.A.S.S. and if they have an American license or not.

12.Money Collection: After the tournament

13.Penalties: Late, 1 pound per minute up to 10 minutes. Dead, 0.5 pound per dead fish. Can bring in a 6th fish if dead without penalty.

We had to move the event to the upper Niagara River for safety reasons, it was a very tough day on the upper Niagara but it beats 8-10 foot waves on Erie.
