niagarasteelheader
Ok guys (and gals) I've got a question. Once ya have your prize bird at home, how do you go about preparing it for the freezer??? I've shot my share of birds and it seems each one is a new experience trying to get it ready to chill out. Besides eating it right away how is everyone else storing their turkey till thanksgiving, Christmas etc? This years bird wouldn't fit into an XL freezer bag, so I put it in 4 (breast to tail, tail to breast etc) then folded the bags over and duct taped em, then a layer of white plastic (industrial green house weight) wrapped it like a Christmas present and duct taped all the seams. I'm thinking there has got to be an easier way!!! Especially when it's a mature bird! What's everyone else's method to preserving dinner until its time to cook??
