yakfish Posted October 13, 2016 Report Share Posted October 13, 2016 Had an extended lunch break today. To kill the time I figured I would hit the bank for some carp. Wasn't sure if there would be much activity with the cooler temps but I managed to get into a couple anyway. They Definetly didn't pull as hard as they do in the summer months but it was nice to feel a tug none the less! I used corn on a simple slip rig with a 1/4 oz egg sinker and a size 4 Mustads octopus hook. The second fish was missing half his lips. Obviously caught previously, healed up and still thriving! Lost one good fish. The hook pulled free after a couple strong runs. The channel cat fought like a rainbow. First time I've had a catfish jumping clear out of the water and he did it twice!
