w1w
...does anyone know what this tackle is? The thing on the left says Made in England on the other side and all three items came from the same box. Calling all Brits?...thanx...
Flycarp
I think the one on the left was used for lake trout trolling in the past kind of like a flasher ahead of a spoon on wire line to get deep. I remember seeing something like that in my Great Grandfather’s tackle when I was a kid (I am 56 now).
w1w
...that would make sense. Doesn't look like it was a cheap piece of equipment either. I don't know what kind of metal, either. No rust and the welds are perfect...thanx...
dave524
Ditto on the one one the left, the 2 on the right were used with a large chub or shiner for trolling lake trout , you hook up the shiner like a quick strike rig for pike and musky. w1w
...any idea what it's called, Dave? How are the spike and the 2 pieces of metal used?...
Chrisb
The modern equivalent. https://www.sail.ca/en/hotspot-hot-spot-7-1-2-med-agitator-429988-grp
Chrisb
The ones on the right look like some sort of dead bait rig. You jab the spike into the nose some dead bait fish and attach the hooks to bait in appropriate spots and troll. The wings look like they spread open and are closed into the bait to lock it in.
