Mike Pike
Hey Guys! Love fishing the harbour but don't enjoy doing the elbow-to-elbow thing on the wall that much. I was told that in the early fall, the salmon and trout stack up close to the dam but LATER in the fall and winter they tend to move down and fill-in the rest of the harbour. Is this true??? And if so, is anyone starting to have success further down river away from the east wall yet??? Thanks All!
Guest cplummer
Yes it's very much true but the browns need to spawn yet, so give it about 2 more weeks then fish the rest of the harbour... cliff...
Guest Ken
On that topic, when the spread out in the harbour, are they still keyed into roe, or will they favour lures over roe at that time?
Mike Pike
Thanks very much for that, Cliff! Tight lines!
The_Fish_Dawg
Roe will work in the harbour from Sept-April, but mid Nov on, a wide variety of baits will also work good. Streamers, minnows, white jig/grub (or tubes) will work well for Port trout. Spinners, cranks, spoons. Yep they will catch fish too. It all depends on the weather, water temps/clarity ect.
