heatmiser74
Haven't posted in awhile, so here goes: Made it down to the lower early yesterday & was on the water by 7:30am. Made a few drifts at the Queenston Backdrift & nothing. Out of the 3 boats drifting it at that time, only saw one fish caught. Decided to join the parade of boats fishing the Artpark drift & although fishing wasn't on fire, hook-ups were fairly consistent. As the morning wore on things slowed a little, so moved down to the Pine drift & popped one there. Then to the Jackson drift & hooked into a couple fish there, from there we moved over to the Johnson drift & got nothing. Tried a drift futher down that 5-6 other boats were already fishing & although we didn't get anything 2 of the boats were consistently hooking into fish on ever run. What they were using or what they were doing , but it was obviously something we weren't . Headed back to the Artpark drift were we hooked into a few more fish & finished the day (3:30pm) at the Backdrift hooking into one more fish. Like I mentioned early fishing wasn't on fire, but did manage a few fish. Things should only get better in the upcoming weeks. BTW water vis was about 4ft plus, Surface temp was 49*F. Most fish in the morning came on Brown Roe (hot pink) & single U-B fishin' rubber eggs (hot pink) & Brown Roe (chartreuse) in the afternoon.
