Guest Brian Laketrout Cuthbertson
Action Accurate winds lol There was a 10 day span last feb out on the Bar that not 1 day did they have the winds right. But heres what I use for the lake Erie and Ontario. On this sites front page you will see the Weather Link Everything you need is in there. Local radar,I only look at the American radar for storms, most of our weather comes from south of us. There is a link there for Marine Forecast The map will give you winds that are near shore and offshore out 5 miles, theres usually a big difference in the wave hieghts. Also you will see the bouys on the map. Most if not all are out for the winter now For predicted winds I use these 2 url Buffalo and Port Weller For accurate wave hieghts I use this Wave hieghts for the week Most if not all of the bouys are out now,but I usually check them for wave hieghts on Erie on the mornin I'm going. Hold you curser over what winds or wave hieghts and it will display them on the screen http://www.erh.noaa.gov/buf/gfe/griddedmarine.html More wind predictions http://maps.wunderground.com/data/640x480/2xne_ws_anim.gif Then theres Real Time Winds It looks like more mud for Monday 30km out of the SW on Erie
Guest bigfishbass
very nice links Brian.... and I like the active radar in the post.... makes me smile to see what is comming our way. There are good sites in canada for this info but most are paid...US has all the free stuff... go figure. LOL brian... what is the url for the radar that you posted.... having a hard time locating that specific one. Thanks
Guest Brian Laketrout Cuthbertson
LOl I had to find it again. Radar Heres the tricky part... It's for paid members only (animated) from 800-1800 eastern. What you need to do is go in after or before this time and run the animated feature,Then right click on the radar and save to favorites or copy and paste http://66.28.250.180/data/640x480/2xradarb4_anim.gif Would this be concerded hacking a site?? This site gives me an idea weather the winds are building or dropping & direction Sure not a good day for the Bar!!
