How do you guys keep the eyes on the rod from freezing up when the temperature is below zero?

Heated rod guides ....... :) ....some use Vaseline ,applied with a Q-tip , or spray on silicone or use stuff from tackle shops to "grease" the guides .....but none really last long if casting/drifting constantly ......

Stanleys Ice off paste is probably the best available. Put it on the night before, ( with a Q-tip), and it will last a couple of hours. Works from about -5C up. Usually only need to do the top 3 or 4 guides. Also do the top of the float, if you use one.

As Smerchly said, nothing will last all day.

I was thinking about using spray Pam ....very slick stuff .....quick and easy to apply on the guides ,and maybe giving the spool of line a good shot of it may help it last longer .

Stanleys works great...i coat the float and first 20' line as well as the guides.
