Tom Chopin
I'm going to throw buzzbaits and topwater Luckycraft Sammy(walk the dog) and then it will be pitching and flipping docks and deeps weeds with a senko. Maybe a texas rigged plastic of some kind as well.

jwl
that's easy for me..I never go out opening day usually....wayyyy too busy out there ,but depending on areas I plan on targetting bass...either tubes..(smoke, or green pumkin)..assorted berkley power baits(colour depending on where I am fishing)..the chartruesse gulp worms, and white twisters I use to fish for everything else...spinner baits...top water frogs for largies in the slop. Generally most bass I catch are just part of the day when targetting other species like pike/muskies/walleye....but I do get out a couple times a season just to see how many bass I can catch in a day for the heck of it...but I tend to stay away from fishing opening day anywhere, I am not one that sits around on the edge of my seat counting down the days till bass opener. pike007
Opening day on the Kawarthas is like bad traffic going past Toronto...but ohwell lots of lakes to choose from...and lots of room out there. I here the mention of leeches...I wouldnot mind getting a few see how they work...i know smallies love them...!
joe
leeches are our first choice when river fishing smallies on the saugeen tribs , and not another person around all day long fishing . like jack we dont like fishing in the pack!! b but unlike jack we do lose sleep counting down the days till opener just like 2 kids waiting for christmas. a pair of shorts and running shoes and we wade the stream for miles ,nothing like watching a smallie break water and do somersaults. kinda gets my old ticker going we drift them just like roe bags , but leave the line just a tad slack. easy to see the pickups and have never badly hooked a fish this way . and being the saugeen you never know what you might hook up with ,been bitten off by big pike and the odd musky. and its a bonus that speckies love leeches too!! jjcanoe
Either a white or green 'Sluggo' type bait They've been killer on pike this year, so I've been itching to try them for bass. Heading out with the float tube Saturday morning and down to Rondeau Bay on Sunday jjcanoe

bigugli
Take anything out of this weeks garbage bag and tie a hook on it. You'll catch bass Sooo true . We used to punch holes in bottle caps and slide them onto a snelled hook. Favourite colours were; Red Cap, Orange Crush, Wilson's Lime Rickey Of course, it cost us a nickel a pop + deposit. A box of worms was a Quarter.
