charlieD
I was just curious if it was safe! Don't plan on killing myself anytime soon! Thanks ...maybe I will head out there sometime this week, hope there are guys out there to lend a hand drilling a hole! I never go ice fishing so I have no Auger, but i want some smelt!! smerchly
Just take a hatchet or even a crowbar to open up the old holes that have frozen over..By the looks of it , you wont even have to do that with rain comming this way . I will go there myself to get a feed of smelt and try one line on the bottom fo perch .....and of course a few "puppy's"
mooseslayer
I was ther saturday and it was fine. Lots of small smelt...caught about 200 or more in 2 hrs, kept 87. Go past the fenced area and go on by the steel wall and grated area. The rest of the shoreline is not too safe for accessing the ice. There was no water on the ice saturday.
