rick
Posted By ALISON LANGLEY, Niagara Falls Review BUFFALO, N.Y.- U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is reminding boaters of the clearance procedures for pleasure boats arriving in the United States from Canada. Boaters must report for inspection at a CBP videophone station immediately upon arrival. Videophone stations can be found at the Erie Basin Marina, in Buffalo, and the Youngstown Yacht Club in Youngstown, N.Y. Boaters must provide the name, date of birth and citizenship of all persons on board, the name and registration number of the boat and home port. Boaters who fail to report for inspection as required by law, may be subject to civil and criminal penalties, said Kevin Corsaro, CBP spokesman. bigugli
It's a pity the Canadian border is so loosely regulated. Anybody can land a boat in Canada and no one would say a word, Wouldn't want to offend our neighbours yunno
Tom Chopin
Same rules apply to the Canadian coast, they have to call customs if they land. We don't have the video phones. In Port Dalhousie last summer Customs was down there quite a bit checking the boats tied up to the pier.
