RBC Foundation contributes to heritage education

O.F.A.H./Mario Cortellucci Hunting & Fishing Heritage Centre will educate, inspire visitors

With a mandate to empower Canadians to make a difference, the RBC Foundation has donated five thousand dollars to the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters toward the completion of the O.F.A.H./Mario Cortellucci Hunting and Fishing Heritage Centre. The centre is nearing completion and is scheduled to open in Peterborough, Ontario later this year.

"RBC is committed to making a lasting social impact through inspired, responsible giving and by building strong partnerships with the charitable sector," said Richard Dupuis, Vice-President & Portfolio Manager with RBC Dominion Securities, who helped coordinate the application on behalf of the O.F.A.H. "Through the RBC Foundation, we support organizations in their efforts to make a difference. We are pleased to be able to contribute to this worthy project that encompasses conservation and education."

"The RBC Foundation is helping us to realize our long-held dream of an educational centre that showcases our outdoor heritage and tells the important story of fish and wildlife conservation," said O.F.A.H. Executive Director, Mike Reader. "Through the O.F.A.H. Mario Cortellucci Hunting and Fishing Heritage Centre, we are building a place where people can learn about the many contributions that hunters and anglers have made to conservation while enjoying an exciting, interactive experience."

The centre will feature the spectacular 2,400-gallon Shimano Freshwater Aquarium, state-of-theart Toronto Sportsmen's Show Amphitheatre, dozens of wildlife dioramas, and a display of record Ontario fish. The heritage centre is named after its major benefactor, Mario Cortellucci, who has donated two million dollars toward the project.

With over 100,000 members, subscribers and supporters, and 660 member clubs, the O.F.A.H. is the largest nonprofit, charitable, fishing, hunting and conservation-based organization in Ontario, and the voice of anglers and hunters. For more information, visit www.ofah.org.
