Pretty neat especially helping the new/young fishermen lol the bullhead almost tripped me up I new it was a yellow bullhead but I had heard someone use "mudcat" as a slang term for them and so "yellow catfish" was the closest to it. I did the same thing jjcanoe I went to click on sturgeon but I clicked on something else but I caught it before I submitted it.
Hula Popper
Double check your answer`s. I have to admit I know my fish pretty well but when your looking at a 2D picture and really cant see the patterens òn the fish it makes it tricky. Anyone that gets 30+ is doing good. CORRECT You got 25 out of 37 correct, or 67.57 % So sad... The variety of panfish/"sunfish", and different catfish really threw me for a loop. There were lots of fish on there that I had never seen before. I was able to identify some fish based on posts I had read before on THIS FORUM - namely the bowfin and bigmouth buffalo, fish I didn't even know existed. Definitely a cool post. Thanks! Snidley
I only got 31 of 37. The panfish crossed me up. I've caught Buffalo fish at the Whirlpool. They were supposedly common in the Niagara prior to the introduction of Common carp. They are apparently good tasting fish and are commercially caught in the Ohio river. The Chinese grocery stores all carry Buffalo fish as well but they call them Chinese Buffalo fish. Don't know if that means they catch them in China or it's a marketing name for locally caught fish. There is also a Smallmouth Buffalo too. They fight very well by the way and take spinners/spoons in addition to bait.

Smokin Joe
A lot of these will not be caught in local waters that I'm aware of so that helps narrow things down.
