minnow killer Posted March 8, 2010 Report Share Posted March 8, 2010 Finally got out on the lake today, morning ice was great, even the snow was good to walk on. So we walked till we saw some already enjoyed holes, put down the minnows and up came the biggest perch i ever got, then 2 more almost as big. Then nuttin, so we ventured out further towards the far group. and only a few per hole. so out a bit further we go, about 30 feet at a time, getting nice ones every hole. we stopped moving once my buddy drilled a hole in 4 inches of ice.most holes of the day were 6 to 10 inches. We managed 65 in all. about 5 were on the iffy side, and there had to be 20 porkers. we were havin so much fun, we didnt realize that everyone was packin it in. end up being the last to get off the ice, but not last to pack up. WHAT A WALK! Do not think it will be good after the warm night tonight. Can't wait to get the boat out there in the spring.
