RJR
I was out in 60 fow 1 kl past the red marker and got 12 nice perch at 10 to 11 inches, despite only having tiny minnows. I got nothing but gobies from 7 till 9:30, then the perch turned on, I fished till 11:00 then headed in. Looks like it is going to be a good fall season. luckydog
Was out on Saturday as well, a beautiful day to be out on the water! There was about 20 boats out there when we started, bite was very light & ended up with about 25. Erie Tr. has minnows now, but they're really small. Headed straight out from PC, a mile or so just west of the red marker in 65fow. Finally get to have that perch feast! http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/171/packofboats.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/824/livewellshot.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/607/fillettime.jpg/
bigdog
Try Dropshotting for perch. You can use two hooks, and because dropshotting keeps the bait well off the bottom it reduces the amount of gobies you catch. Also, try plastics for perch. I crush them with a 2.5"/3" Gulp Alive Smelt or Shiner. The small Slug-go's work really good as well. Anything that looks like a minnow should work pretty well. The perch don't tear up plastics like a bass will, so a small pack of plastics should last you quite a while. Good Luck!
pauly
Went out with the kids on Sunday with all the other boats out of Port. C. Got a bunch of perch and fried them up. Then went in shallow for some smallies. Got about 15. Kids loved seeing them up shallow and targeting individual bass.

luckydog
After seeing the weekend weather report of 10' plus waves in the forcast decided to head out yesterday from PC. About a dozen boats out there, most between 58'-65'fow just past the red marker again. For us the bite was light & slow at first with lots of gobies, but picked up & seemed to get one perch for every 5 minnows. Nice the launch is free now but lots of weeds, trailer looked like a chia pet. Hopefully calm weather returns soon!
