Bryan
I am headed out this weekend (Saturday) and hoping to find and fish for pike (catch and release), can anyone share some good locations or types of locations to look for when fishing for pike? I'm not looking for specific spots just some areas where the pike are and also what types of lures or baits work really well this time of year. I live in the Port Dalahousie area, and am looking for information around the Niagara region.
kuhaman
Martindale pond is worth a shot. If your willing to drive a bit then the rec canal in Welland/Dain city can be pretty productive
niagarangler89
Lake Gibson...a little further away, but there's some nice pike in there. Try tossing red/white pike spoons or inline spinners (Mepps, Bluefox, etc). This time of the year, look for shallow weeds/cover.
Phranchise
With this warm weather, mr.pike should be starting to move up to spawn pretty soon. Big Husky Jerks fished super slow, spoons, bucktails etc will all produce. Usually, if they are on...they are "on" and will probably hit a salad spoon if you throw it out there.
