cdnfishguy11
Hey guy, I enjoy getting creative when rigging my lines Having decent success with carp using boilies... does anyone have success running a boilie like a trout bead on the tippet ? or should I stick with nymphs and other insects when out with the fly rod? thanks, Josh
snakeman4
iv tried using a trout bead down on the niagara for trout earlier this year, the only thing i ran into, is trying to pull ur line out of the water to make a false cast or back cast or what ever, the bead has more resistance than a normal fly, and tends to "pop" out of the water and create a bit of line slack on the back-cast. maybe it was just too big of a bead, (i was using a normal trout corkie) but thats my 2-cents, too hard for me to cast and not worth the hastle when sucker spawn flies basically offer the same thing, easier to cast. cdnfishguy11
I believe the boilies float so I guess it would cause alot of surface disturbance, just a thought
hammercarp
I am not a fly angler but I have some pictures of flies that may interest you. They are along the lines you are thinking. http://s588.photobuc...s%20and%20More/

Gnfshn
I would suggest crayfish and nymphs as a good starting point.
