fcm420
So the wife and I have some friends up in the Sault. We want to go visit them for a week... Air canada has flights @ $500 / person ( costs less to fly to las vegas including hotel!.. what the hell ) Driving up 400 / 69 and around is like 12 hours? through michigan seems to be shortest at around 8 1/2 hours.. Through tobermory --> ferry crossing --> Manitoulin is 12 hours but with a little break while on the ferry... Just wondering what everyones thoughts were on this?... Hate the idea of a 12 hour drive... wish we could fly but at $1000 + for the two of us that's just crazy talk.

snakeman4
try porter airlines, cheaper flights, around 200$ per person round trip i believe.
Snags
Porter can be cheaper but If your flying out of the island airport parking is $$$$$$$$$ I paid $60 to park for 26 hours a month ago.
rickyy33
Just wanted to add my dad just got back from sault st marie and it took him 9 hours, and he doesn't speed, don't know if that helps
DaveC
I was going to make the trip up there to ride the Agawa Canyon train, but once I saw how long a drive it was I changed plans. I really think through Michigan would be the fastest.
jesse
I would stay in canada as that drive has some real nice scenery.Plus you have OHIP here just in case!Don't speed or you will get stopped in the blind river area for sure!
