heavy cover Posted August 12, 2012 Report Share Posted August 12, 2012 Hit the welland river friday, hit a few small pike and lost a small musky. I noticed something moving under the slop, so I pitched a weightless swimbait on top. The fish started to follow my lure, but no strike. On the second try, the slop opened up and my lure disappeared. To my surprise, it was a bowfin! . This was a first for me. I had no idea that bowfin are so acrobatic, or that they live in the slop. snaggy Posted August 13, 2012 Report Share Posted August 13, 2012 haha, I've had some bad expierences with bowfin , first one snapped off my lucky lure, second one sent my uncle to the hospital with a treble deep in his hand, they do put up a nice fight though!
