ron4blues
ahhh the 20/20 challenge.... hoping this winter I can complete it for steelhead You'll have to let us know how that goes. I didn't think steelhead would go much for dry flies in the winter. Maybe a # 20 caddis larva or wet fly?

ron4blues
Well if you wait til spring, this one will produce! A # 20 Royal Coachman no hackle spinner. That's Phentex yarn as winging material, the rest of the fly is tied in the traditional fashion.

Pike love them and I think the flies tied with natural materials will outfish all the plastic and hard bait mouse immitations! Yup, love mouse patterns! They can be a challenge to cast, but the surface takes can be unreal. I'll have to get some tied up soon. I bought a battery powered mustache/sideburn trimmer for shaping muddler and Dahlburg heads. Should be just the ticket for mouse patterns and a lot less fuss than scissors.
